Second day back in Perth!
After spending our first day with our host families yesterday, we came back to the Hale school for rehearsals for the Foxboro chamber orchestra, jazz ensemble, and jazz choir at 7:30 am today.
The orchestra students spent time working with the younger elementary school students by attending their morning music class in which we got to observe the way these young boys are learned music.
Then, we had some down time until each Foxboro ensemble had rehearsals to practice their pieces.
Afterwards, for about and hour and half, we had down time to walk around the campus and talk to each other until we had our first assembly in which the Hale boys were all gathered in the auditorium for their weekly assembly and in which some Foxboro students were able to give a presentation on school life in America with a Q & A following.

Right after we had lunch outside on Hale’s field with all the other students and we were able to see what Hale students do on a normal school day. Many kids were outside playing soccer and “footie” which is Australian football, while also being able to eat their Milo yogurt.
After lunch, we were able to take some time to rest from our packed and busy day until we had a second assembly in which the younger students were invited to the auditorium to hear all three Foxboro ensembles play and hear about a new “Practice-arthon” competition which will encourage young boys to practice their instruments more.
Later, school was over for the boys at 3:30 pm and all the ensembles had rehearsals with the Hale students till 5:30. This was the first time that Foxboro students and Hale students had practiced together on the trip.
After rehearsal, all Foxboro students were able to go off with their host students for a free night with their families.
Tomorrow all FHS students will be shadowing their Hale host students in class! Can’t wait for an interesting day in classes tomorrow.
