Day 3: Sydney Tower Eye, Bondi Beach, & AFL

G’Day Mate!

What an eventful day.

Everyone always says that breakfast is the most important meal of the day— and that was evident in the day we had planned today. We got to sleep in a little longer today since our breakfast period was from 8:45-9:45 am. After eating countless tatter tots and vegemite, we were out the door and onto our coach bus, driven by our amazing driver Mick.

We made a quick trip to the Sydney Tower Eye. We headed to the top floor that overlooked the whole city. There we saw the beautiful views of Sydney like the Sydney Harbour Bridge and many other land marks.

Then, we moved down to Coogee Beach where we had a quick lunch to get the calories we needed for our two hour walk to Bondi Beach. Our fast pace walk through the scenic trail allowed us to view every angle of the unique nature of Sydney. White sand beaches with light blue water, we saw views from high cliffs worthy for that perfect picture.

We were all exhausted after an 8-mile walk, but the breathtaking view of beach was worth it. We got half an hour to go shopping and dip our feet into the crystal blue water.

After, we headed onto the bus to head to our Australian Football League game— a playoff game. Given $30 each, we got whatever dinner we wanted at the stadium. All though a lot of us didn’t totally understand the game of Australian football, the amount of energy that the stadium brought was exciting and made the game much more interesting.

Finally, we headed back to the hotel with our curfew/ room check at 9:00 pm.

Can’t wait for the incredible day tomorrow seeing the Sydney Opera House and The Museum of Contemporary Art!
